Principal Message

Dear Montair Families,

We are thrilled to welcome everyone back to campus! We look forward to seeing our students in classrooms, on the playgrounds, in the science lab and in the library.  As we return to campus this year, we will focus on building connections among our students and families.  Join us as we promote this year's theme of "All for One and One for All". Our mission is to ensure all students and staff feel supported by all students and staff, so everyone reaches their highest potential!

Montair Elementary School is staffed with an amazing team of caring, committed educators.  Our teachers pour their hearts and souls into teaching their students to the best of their ability.  They take the time to get to know their students, figure out how best to nurture their interests and design learning experiences to engage their passion. Our students come to school each day eager to learn and leave each day wiser, more knowledgeable and assured knowing how much we care about their learning.

At Montair, we are committed to educating the whole child, offering opportunities for them to grow artistically, academically and athletically.  Due to our community's generosity, in addition to the core curriculum, our students enjoy art, gardening, and music across the grades.  Run Club will start in September and run throughout the year.

Our parent organizations PTA, Dad's Club and the Montair Foundation are gearing up for a year full of fun and making memories.  This year, we are once again excited to have our school carnival, movie night, family picnic, Halloween parade, Restaurant of the Month, and our annual Montair Foundation Auction. Thanks to our parent organizations, our teachers, and our staff's efforts, our families enjoy the warm, loving community that defines Montair.

Your children form their attitudes and beliefs about themselves as learners during their time at Montair. It is a privilege to be part of the team that guides our students at the beginning of their social-emotional and academic journeys. I am dedicated to working together with the staff, teachers, families, and children at Montair, so we can co-create a warm, yet rigorous learning environment for all our students.

Please remember to follow us on your preferred social media platform and don't miss the Montair Minute, sent out each week to our families. If you have any questions, please contact me at elyons@srvusd.net

Here’s to a fantastic year!

Warm Regards,
