Montair Foundation Overview

Montair Foundation Overview

The Montair Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds to maintain and enhance educational excellence at Montair Elementary School. Through the collaboration of parents, educators, the school's Site Council and the community, the Foundation supports programs and services that are considered important to the development of the whole child but are not provided for by the state. Library, art, gardening, drama, technology, math and reading intervention are among the expanded resources we support. We have maintained a healthy standing during these challenging years of the pandemic, and will continue to work diligently to actualize our mission.
It is our vision that at Montair children reach their full potential intellectually, socially, and emotionally through a well balanced education

At Montair, we are proud to support the “whole child” and believe a diversified educational platform is important.
For the 2023-2024 school year, the Foundation plans to fund:
  • Reading Intervention
  • Math Intervention (Montair is only 1 of 2 schools in our district that supports a math intervention program)
  • Expanded Librarian hours
  • Garden Program
  • Paraeducators - giving each class additional staffing to help with small group instruction
  • Reading, Art & Music Instructional Assistants
  • Teacher Assessment Days
  • Drama teacher productions for 2nd & 5th grades
  • Teacher grants
  • Science of Reading implementation tools and professional development (2022-2023 Fund-A-Need)
What we have funded in the past with your generous donations:
  • Shade Structure & lunch tables
  • New ADA Accessible Playground for lower grades
  • 1,200 new books for every classroom with diverse topics, cultures, and characters
  • Flexible Seating and sensory kits for classrooms
  • Collaboration, professional development and assessment days for teachers
  • Recess Enhancements: sports equipment & Maker’s Space Materials
  • Science Lab support and Science materials
  • Chromebooks for 3-5th grades at a 1:1 ratio
  • iPads for K-2nd Grades
  • All new computers for our computer lab & Technology Instructor
Thank you for your generosity in supporting your child(ren)'s education. The 2023-2024 suggested donation amount of $500 per student contributes to the cost of this year's programs for every child at Montair, from TK through 5th grade. A successful family donation drive typically constitutes 40% of our budget. We are sensitive to everyone's changing circumstances and if you are unable to donate this suggested amount, please know we gratefully accept any level of giving, and at any time during the school year. Your donation is 100% tax-deductible (Tax ID 94-3179784).
Please help us achieve our goal of 100% Montair Family Participation in the Donation Drive. A successful Family Donation Drive will allow our school to make the best possible program decisions and staffing commitments, as well as, ensure the continuity of our programs through the end of the school year.
If you would like to have your donation split into equal monthly installments, please check the installment option on the store. Thank you for your support!
